27-Year Old Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident near Mile of Cars Way
NATIONAL CITY, CA (November 5, 2021) – Friday night, 27-year-old Jonathan Pangilinan was fatally struck by multiple cars on Interstate 5.
The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m., on October 29. Emergency dispatchers responded to the scene near Mile of Cars Way shortly after receiving calls in the area.
According to reports, the driver of a black Toyota Corolla struck Pangilinan as he was walking in the fast lane of the highway. Upon impact, the male pedestrian was launched into the air before landing in the far left lane.
There, at least two more vehicles struck Pangilinan. Due to the impact of the collision, he suffered multiple blunt force injuries before he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the drivers involved. In addition, investigators say Pangilinan’s partner was pregnant at the time.
