Jon Stewart's “Rally To Restore Sanity” is back on schedule at a location not far from the Pershing Square site originally chosen by organizers: MacArthur Park in the Westlake District near downtown

The 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. event will happen Oct. 30 at Levitt Pavilion, according to the event's Facebook page.

Organizers had said their plans to hold a rally at downtown's Pershing Square park on the same date were rejected by L.A. City Hall. As we reported, city parks officials said they didn't reject Stewart's permit; rather, they said, that venue was ocupado. In fact …

… Parks and rec spokeswoman Andrea Epstein told the Weekly that the department would be glad to find another locale for the cable-TV showman's gathering.

His people apparently took up parks and rec on the offer:

Jon Stewart will rally in L.A.'s inner-city after all.
