Mia Janae Perry Arrested after Deadly Collision near Pierson Boulevard

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (October 26, 2021)  Jon Sherwood died and Mia Janae Perry was arrested after a crash on Highway 62.

The accident occurred around 10:00 p.m., on Thursday in the area of Pierson Boulevard and Highway 62.

According to reports, 55-year-old Sherwood was driving a Harley-Davidson north on Highway 62. Meanwhile, Perry was driving a Toyota Solara west on Pierson and failed to yield to the motorcycle while attempting to cross.

As a result, the motorcycle crashed into the Toyota. Despite life-saving efforts, Sherwood died from his injuries on the scene.

Police later arrested Perry for DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. Moreover, she is currently being held on a $50,000 bail at the Riverside County Sheriff’s Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
