24-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Single-Vehicle Collision near FM 1673

SNYDER, TX (September 1, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, Johnny Rey Hernandez was killed in a solo-car accident on Highway 84.

Authorities responded to the scene around 5:00 a.m., near FM 1673 on August 20th.

Per reports, Hernandez was driving a 2018 Dodge Charger north on the highway when he failed to navigate a curve. As a result, the Dodge veered off the road and struck a stop sign before overturning.

Additionally, police say the car rolled through a fence and across FM 1673 before catching fire. First responders arrived and pronounced the driver, 24-year-old Hernandez, of Port Orchard Texas dead at the scene.

Authorities closed down the surrounding area to perform cleanup and preliminary duties. Investigators reported that drugs or alcohol were not factors in the collision.
