Traffic Accident near Bridalsmith Drive Left One Bicyclist Dead

SACRAMENTO, CA (April 27, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash on Elk Grove Florin Road left Johnathon Saelee dead Thursday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a white work truck struck one of the two cyclists riding along the northbound bike lane on Elk Grove Florin Road near Bridalsmith Drive.

As a result, the bicyclist sustained major injuries and was hospitalized by responding medical crews. Furthermore, the driver fled the scene right after the initial collision.

Unfortunately, the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Saelee died on Monday at the hospital.

At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains unidentified by the CHP.

However, the authorities described the suspect’s vehicle as a white work truck with a missing passenger-side mirror, possibly a 2008 to 2016 Ford pickup.
