3 Injured, 1 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision near San Luisito Creek Road

MORRO BAY, CA (March 2, 2022)Vivian Young Gong, John Ruxton Carroll Jr., and Paul Daniel Gendron were hurt in a fatal crash, Saturday.

Per reports, the collision happened around 6:20 p.m., near San Luisito Creek Road.

Investigators say Carroll Jr. was driving a vehicle and stopped in the left turn lane at San Luisito Creek Road.

Per reports, a southbound vehicle driven by Gendron approached the intersection and struck the right side of Carroll’s car as they were making a left turn. Shortly after, Vivian Young Gong hit Gendron’s vehicle, causing the multi-vehicle collision.

Emergency responders transported all injured parties to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.

However, the unidentified female passenger of Carroll succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

Morro Bay officials shut down the southbound lanes on Highway 1 for several hours before they were later reopened. At this time, no further details have been provided.
