Motorcycle Crash on 22nd Street Left 53-Year-Old Rider Dead

TUCSON, AZ (January 10, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, a motorcycle crash on 22nd Street claimed the life of 53-year-old John Morales.

Officers responded to the 5100 block of East 22nd Street, after receiving dispatch calls in the area.

Furthermore, a gray 1999 Saturn S12 tried to turn into a “private drive” from the westbound lanes of East 22nd Street when it hit Morales, headed east.

The impact caused the Saturn to hit a white 2011 Nissan Sentra, waiting to turn right onto 22nd Street.

However, the driver of the Saturn’s failed to yield as he turned left and Morales riding at an excessive speed were factors in the crash.

As of Wednesday afternoon, no charges or citations have been issued from the incident.

As to this time, investigation is underway.
