49-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck and Killed near Keelson Lane

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (January 12, 2023) – Friday evening, a pedestrian crash on Slater Avenue claimed the life of John Diaz.

The incident happened around 6:50 p.m. near the intersection of Slater Avenue and Keelson Lane.

According to reports, John Dias was walking in the area when an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado hit him while he was outside of the sidewalk. The impact of the collision caused Dias to sustain fatal injuries.

First responders arrived to the site of the collision shortly after. There, they pronounced 49-year-old John Diaz of Huntington Beach dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old male driver of the Silverado remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. At this time, an investigation is currently underway.
