44-Year-Old Driver Killed in Solo-Car Accident on Short Street

HESPERIA, CA (March 16, 2022) – A rollover crash on Mariposa Road claimed the life of 44-year-old Joey Paul Catano Sr., Saturday afternoon.

The incident took place along Mariposa Road and Short Street around 1:00 p.m. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

California Highway Patrol stated that Catano Sr. was driving his 1994 GMC Sierra when for unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle rolled over into a nearby field.

In addition, the impact ejected Catano Sr. from his vehicle, causing life-threatening injuries. Medical personnel arrived and pronounced Catano Sr. dead at the scene.

Authorities did not release any additional information at this time. However, the cause of the accident and the factors involved remain under active investigation.
