24-Year-Old Los Angeles Man Dies in Semi-Truck Collision near Mile Marker 145

BAKER, CA (August 17, 2022) – 24-year-old Joey Dee Hagedorn was killed in a 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 15, early Saturday morning.

The accident happened around 5:35 a.m., near mile marker 145 just north of Baker.

According to reports, Hagedorn was driving a 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLS550 sedan with a 38-year-old female passenger at an unsafe speed.

The Mercedes then rear-ended a 2014 Freightliner Cascadia trailer, driven by a 48-year-old man from Moreno Valley in the third lane.

First responders arrived and found Hagedorn trapped inside the Mercedes. Due to the extent of his condition, medics later pronounced him dead on scene.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported a female passenger with severe injuries to University Medical Center. At this time, officials have not released the woman’s name or current condition, but they have stated that she is pregnant and that the deceased man was her husband.

At this time, it is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the deadly big-rig crash. However, an active investigation is still underway.
