L.A. Observed's radar has picked up a Joe Torre interview from today's Fox Business News that's easily worth a few mouse clicks. The Dodger skipper, whose tell-all book, The Yankee Years, is still showing legs, might well have called his last year managing the Yanks A Season in Hell. Still, on Fox he sounds fairly magnanimous toward his old boss George Steinbrenner. Quotes LAO:

“He's going to reach in his pocket and spend the money and give you the opportunity to manage good ballplayers to see if you can manage it.”

Torre held forth on a number of topics, from steroids to A-Rod and Manny Ramirez. No word, though, on how Torre plans to beef up the Dodger bullpen, which lately seems unable to put out a match.
