Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Fire Truck near Trouville Avenue

GROVER BEACH, CA (August 1, 2022) – Wednesday, Joe Farnsworth was involved and a man was killed in an electric bike accident on 13th Street.

The collision occurred around 10:20 p.m., near the intersection of 13th Street and Trouville Avenue.

Per reports, the northbound bicyclist entered the road directly into the path of an oncoming fire truck, driven by 39-year-old Joe Farnsworth. As a result, the fire truck and the bicyclist collided.

The right front of the truck hit the left side of the bicycle, ejecting the bicyclist onto the road. Medical personnel arrived and transported the severely injured man to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital for further treatment.

Due to the extent of his condition, medics later pronounced the 29-year-old Atwater man dead at the hospital. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.

At this time, Grover Beach Officials continue to investigate the 13th Street bicycle accident.
