Former Vice President Joe Biden has defeated President Donald Trump and is projected to become the 46th president of the United States, according to the Associated Press.

After four days of counting the votes in key battleground states, the AP has called Pennsylvania for Biden, giving him the necessary 270 to become president-elect.

“America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country,” Biden said Saturday. “The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not.”

President Trump presented a lawsuit in Pennsylvania, accusing it of voter fraud, citing several viral videos of as evidence of Republicans not being allowed to watch votes being counted and “illegal votes” being  counted. The lawsuits did not stop Pennsylvania from counting its votes.

Trump responded to the proclaimed Biden victory, saying in a statement:

“We all know why Joe Biden is rushing to falsely pose as the winner, and why his media allies are trying so hard to help him: they don’t want the truth to be exposed. The simple fact is this election is far from over. Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor.”

Biden addressed the nation on Friday night saying he felt confident that he would win the presidency after all the votes were counted, while Fox News reported that Trump would not immediately concede.

The projected victory also makes California senator Kamala Harris the first Black/South Asian, and woman vice president-elect.

“This was truly the victory America needed, to be the America we know we can be,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom said on Twitter Saturday. “From America’s largest state: Congratulations to the next President and Vice-President of these United States @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris.”
