Brother and 10-Year-Old Sister Killed in Pedestrian Collision on Hammond Way

BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 14, 2021) – Tuesday afternoon, JJ Malone was killed and Lisa Core was arrested after a DUI crash on Panama Lane.

The fatal incident happened around 1:15 p.m., when Core lost control of her vehicle at the 1400 block of Panama Lane.

As a result, she struck a 19-year-old boy and his 10-year-old sister who were standing on the corner of Hammond Way. After the initial impact, she also crashed into a tree, crumpling the vehicle’s hood.

Due to the impact of the collision, authorities pronounced JJ Malone and his young sister dead at the scene.

Additionally, medics also transported 46-year-old Lisa Core to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries. According to police, she will be booked into the Kern County Jail for DUI and other related charges once released.
