We gloated a little when, earlier this month, the latest World University Rankings out of the U.K. said Caltech is the best school on the planet and UCLA is No. 13.

L.A. is a smart place, innit?

Well, not exactly. Last night Jimmy Kimmel Live aired a segment on street reaction to the presidential debate. Except that, when he taped it yesterday afternoon, the debate hadn't happened yet:

That, of course, didn't stop Angelenos (or, at least, tourists on Hollywood Boulevard) from weighing in with fantastic detail about a debate that they had not seen.

One guy says Obama won and describes his favorite moment as “the booing”:

I must say he was stronger this time around.

… I think there was booing. Wasn't there booing? … That would probably be my highlight — the booing, on Mitt Romney's behalf.

Another Obama fan was relieved that the president performed better for the second debate:

I'm glad he was more alert this time and not so slacking like before.

“Did you watch the whole thing?” he's asked. “Oh yeah.”

One guy says, “I was kinda watching it between the football game.”

But the Kimmel crew found at least one honest man:

They had one last night? Who's running for president?
