21-Year-Old Driver Dies in Auto Collision near Auberry Road

FRESNO, CA (January 7, 2022) – Saturday evening, 21-year-old Jesus Meza-Leyva was killed in a 2-car accident on Highway 168.

The fatal incident happened around 8:30 p.m., on the eastbound lanes of Highway 168, just east of Auberry Road.

According to the responding officers, Meza-Leyva was driving a a Toyota MR2 when he lost control after navigating a crest along the roadway. He then spun out and entered the eastbound lane where he crashed into a pickup-truck.

As a result, the Toyota driver, identified as 21-year-old Jesus Meza-Leyva of Caruthers, died at the scene. Meanwhile, the pickup-truck driver remained uninjured.

At this time, Fresno Officials are still currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
