Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck by DUI Driver near River Road

SANTA ROSA, CA (February 22, 2022)Jesus Jimenez Hernandez was arrested Saturday morning, after a fatal DUI crash on Highway 101.

According to California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred shortly after 4:00 a.m, just south of River Road.

California Highway Patrol said 29-year-old Hernandez was driving a Honda Pilot south on the highway. There, he struck a male pedestrian who was walking in the area.

Upon arrival, paramedics located the man whose identity remains withheld pending notification of kin, dead on the ground.

Eventually, police learned that Jesus Jimenez Hernandez, who stayed at the scene, had been driving under the influence when the fatal collision occurred. He is being detained at Sonoma County jail for DUI charges.
