33-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Collision near Riverside Street

SHAFTER, CA (February 1, 2022)Jesus Eusebio Sanchez was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Shafter Avenue, early Tuesday evening.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 6:02 p.m., between Riverside Street and Elizabeth Avenue.

Under unknown circumstances, Sanchez was struck by a passing vehicle while walking in the area.

Upon arrival, emergency crews immediately located 33-year-old Sanchez with life-threatening wounds. Due to the extent of his condition, Sanchez eventually succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Meanwhile, the involved driver fled the scene before authorities arrived.

Authorities encourage those with further information about the deadly collision to contact local authorities as soon as possible. Shafter Officials are still working to identify the hit-and-run suspect and the circumstances surrounding the crash.
