24-Year-Old Dies in Vehicle Crash near Highway 46

MCFARLAND, CA (April 27, 2022) – A traffic accident on Highway 99 claimed the life of Jesus Alberto Zarate Aguayo Jr. and one other last Sunday morning.

According to the report, the crash happened just before 2:30 a.m., when Aguayo Jr. collided with a semi-truck on 99, just north of Highway 46.

Unfortunately, two people died at the scene and another one sustained moderate injuries.

Later on, the Kern County Coroner’s Office identified one of the deceased victims as Aguayo Jr. of Tulare California.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear. Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

No other information regarding the collision has been made available; however, McFarland Officials continue to investigate the fatal accident along Highway 99 at this time.
