2 Pedestrians Fatally Struck by Tayishe Baltys on Harbison Avenue

NATIONAL CITY, CA (June 27, 2022) Jessica Talamante and Brian McKee lost their lives Wednesday night, in a DUI crash on Plaza Boulevard.

The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m., along the intersection of East Plaza Boulevard and Harbison Avenue.

Per reports, Talamante and her stepfather were crossing the street on their way home from a neighborhood market. There, the driver of a 2020 Toyota Prius struck them.

Eventually, first responders arrived and declared the girl dead at the scene, while her stepfather died from his injuries at Scripps Mercy Hospital.

Officers later identified the deceased victims as 15-year-old Talamante, and 38-year-old McKee.

Meanwhile, the driver, 43-year-old Tayishe Baltys, now faces DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter charges. Police booked her into Las Colinas women’s jail in Santee, where she was held on $500,000 bail.
