One Dead, One Injured after DUI Crash on Euclid Avenue in Ontario

ONTARIO, CA (July 16, 2021) – Monday morning, 32-year-old Eduardo Rabinal, died and Jessica Dewet was arrested after a fatal crash.

The crash took place at around 11:00 a.m., at Riverside Drive and Euclid Avenue. Two street vendors were crossing northbound on Riverside Drive when 43-year-old Dewet struck them.

Jessica Dewet, 43, was accused of driving a white van while intoxicated when she collided with both sellers.

According to reports, Rabinal and his cousin, 20-year-old Ariel Rabinal, were crossing the street on their cart when they were hit by Dewet.

One of the victims, Eduardo Rabinal, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Dewet was also transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

In addition, the family of the deceased set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.

Dewet was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. She was later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
