37-Year-Old Man Arrested after Injuring Officer in Hit-and-Run Crash on Interstate 15

SAN DIEGO, CA (November 22, 2021) Police arrested Jesse Dylan Cesmat Monday morning following a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 15 that left one CHP officer injured.

The incident happened in the area of northbound Interstate 15 at Miramar Way around 4:38 a.m. on November 15.

As per reports, CHP arrived at the scene and located 3 vehicles; a Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac sedan and a white sedan, involved in a collision.

The white sedan driver tried to flee scene, but one officer attempted to stop him by reaching into the car and turning it off.

As a result, the officer sustained non life-threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, authorities identified the suspect as Jesse Dylan Cesmat, 37, of Valley Center.

Later on, CHP arrested Cesmat on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, resisting peace officer with force and felony hit-and-run causing injury.

Authorities did not release any additional information, however, the accident remain under investigation.
