68-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on 19th Street

SAN PABLO, CA (May 12, 2022) – Early Saturday morning, authorities arrested Jesse Dubois after a fatal bicycle crash on Rumrill Boulevard.

The collision took place near 19th Street around 12:15 a.m. on May 7th. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, Dubois was driving his 2011 burgundy Nissan Sentra and collided with a 68-year-old man riding a bicycle.  Upon impact, Dubois did not stop to render aid the victim and fled the scene.

Responding paramedics discovered the 68-year-old bicyclist unconscious on the road with severe injuries. Due to the extent of his condition, medics pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene.

At this time, authorities are withholding his name until his next of kin is notified.

Officials eventually located the suspect at his residence. Officers arrested and booked Dubois into the Contra Costa County Jail on charges of felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.
