Jose Luis Cacho Jr. Arrested After Fatal Hit-and-Run near La Sierra Avenue

RIVERSIDE, CA (July 20, 2022) – Saturday, police responded to a hit-and-run collision near Indiana Avenue, that killed Jerry Hodges.

The crash happened on July 16th, near the intersection of La Sierra Avenue and Indiana Avenue.

According to reports, a 2001 silver Honda Accord heading eastbound on Indiana Avenue struck a bicyclist who was traveling in the area. Authorities believe that the driver of the Accord, later identified as 40-year-old Jose Luis Cacho Jr., was speeding.

After the collision, the driver fled the scene but was later found and arrested. Police have charged him with driving under the influence.

Meanwhile, the bicyclist, Hodges, was transported to a local hospital where he later died, due to the extent of his injuries.

At this time, investigations into the incident are ongoing.
