The week before Los Angeles Lakers co-owner Jerry Buss was announced as a Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, his stepson was arrested in Beverly Hills, allegedly for assaulting a parking officer who ended up in a hospital two months before a planned retirement.

The March 31 arrest happened after Sean Buss allegedly bear-hugged parking officer Kevin Ashwill and slammed him to the ground, injuring him, according to the Beverly Hills Courier.

The officer was apparently citing the younger Buss for parking in a red zone. He was charged on suspicion of battery on a traffic officer and released in lieu of $20,000 bail, according to the paper.

The younger Buss is the son of a former girlfriend of the Lakers legend, who took him in as his own and gave him his family name.
