47-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Fatal Collision near South Craig Road
AIRWAY HEIGHTS, WA (July 19, 2023) – Tuesday night, Jerry Armstrong was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident on Highway 2. Around 10:30 p.m., police responded to the scene near South Craig Road after receiving multiple calls in the area. Investigators say Armstrong approached a curb just west of Craig Road at a high rate of speed and lost control. As a result, the rider fell sideways struck another vehicle as he entered the intersection. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 47-year-old Armstrong, of Ritsville dead at the scene. Officers say he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle that was hit remained uninjured. Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
