19-Year-Old Killed in Crash near Dovewood Street

BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 15, 2022) – Wednesday evening, Jermari Pierre Terrell was killed in a two-vehicle crash on White Lane.

According to Bakersfield Police, the crash occurred around 1:50 p.m. on March 9th, by the 4400 block of White Lane.

Police said an SUV driven by 29-year-old Kimberly Phommasouk was attempting to make a left turn on White Lane near Dovewood Street when it crashed into the car driven by Terrell.

Due to the impact, the car when off road and into a gas main, causing a gas leak for a brief time.

Despite life-saving efforts, Terrell was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Meanwhile, police arrested Phommasouk on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony driving under the influence resulting in death and DUI.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Furthermore, an active investigation is currently in progress.
