42-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Killed in Collision near Friant Road

FRESNO, CA (April 20, 2022) – Tuesday evening, 42-year-old Jeremy Baker lost their life in a deadly pedestrian crash on Highway 41.

The collision occurred around 11:00 p.m. on April 12th, just north of Friant Road.

Per investigation, police learned that 42-year-old Baker was crossing the southbound lanes Highway 41 when he was struck by a 2009 Cadillac driven by 19-year-old Elmer Villatorro.

The front driver’s side of the vehicle hit Baker, throwing him into the center divider. Due to the impact of the collision, medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Moreover, crews closed both directions of the roadway to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties, before it was later reopened.

Meanwhile, Villatoro and his 17-year-old passenger, who wore seatbelts, did not report any injuries and remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities. However, an active investigation is currently underway at this time.
