Elderly Woman Hospitalized after Hit-and-Run Crash near 32nd Street

PHOENIX, AZ (July 22, 2022)Jennifer VanNorton was hospitalized Sunday, following a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Bell Road.

The crash happened near 32nd Street on July 17th. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a truck struck the elderly woman as she was walking along the road.

Upon impact, the involved driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the severely injured pedestrian. According to reports, a bystander stopped by and aided VanNorton until paramedics and officers arrived at the scene.

Following preliminary investigations, police said Jennifer VanNorton was on her way home from the salon when the accident happened. At this time, police are actively looking for the suspect driver.

Meanwhile, no arrests have been made and any witnesses are encouraged to contact local officers. Further investigations are still ongoing.
