Andrew Baty Arrested after DUI Accident near Ephrata

EPHRATA, WA (February 3, 2022) – Monday, Jennifer Reynolds, and a 17-year-old teen sustained injuries in a DUI collision on State Route 28.

The incident happened around 10:00 p.m. on January 24, on the westbound lanes of the highway.

According to reports, Andrew Baty attempted to illegally pass vehicles in a no-passing zone on State Route 28. Eventually, his vehicle collided with a car traveling in the same way during an aggressive lane shift to escape oncoming traffic.

After hitting a rock wall, Baty’s 1997 Honda Civic came to a halt on its top, while the 17-year-old boy’s 1999 Honda Civic skidded to a halt on its wheels.

Meanwhile, paramedics took Baty and his passenger, 42-year-old Reynolds, to the hospital with injuries, along with a 17-year-old kid driving the second car.

Eventually, police charged Baty with drunk driving and vehicular assault in the crash.

At this time, no further details have been released.

Operating a vehicle under the influence is one of the most dangerous things you can do as a driver. If you find yourself unable to safely drive, you can always contact a Lyft or Uber instead.
