36-Year-Old Mother Dies, Children Injured in E-Bike Crash near Dana Point

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (September 30, 2021) – Saturday night, 36-year-old Jennifer Lee Macy was killed in an E-Bike Accident.

The collision occurred around 8:30 p.m., on the San Juan trail, near the Dana Point border. Dispatchers arrived to the scene shortly after.

According to officers, Macy was riding her e-bike on the trail when she lost control and slammed into nearby rocks. Two young children were riding in the front and rear passenger seat, both under the age of 5.

Due to the impact of the crash, both children were seriously injured and taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. In addition, Macy was pronounced dead due to the extent of her wounds.

Investigators say both children were wearing helmets, but Macy was not. Moreover, Macy’s husband was riding with them and witnessed the crash.

Reports indicate that the family was returning home from a trip to Doheny State Beach, following the Ohana festival.
