39-Year-Old Pedestrian Pinned Underneath Vehicle after Crash on Shasta Dam Boulevard

SHASTA LAKE, CA (October 27, 2021) – Thursday, Jennifer Culkins, 39, sustained injuries in a pedestrian crash on Oregon Avenue.

The crash occurred shortly after 5:00 p.m., near Shasta Dam Boulevard and Oregon Avenue, as per report. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after.

Culkins allegedly walked in front of a stopped car at the intersection. Meanwhile, William Smith, 42, was driving south on Oregon Avenue, turning east onto Shasta Dam Boulevard.

There, Smith pulled over to the side of the road after realizing Culkins had been hit and was trapped behind the front passenger side tire of the truck.

Additionally Smith did not notice Culkins at any point throughout the turn maneuver. As per reports, Smith was not suspected of being inebriated at the time.

Meanwhile, the pedestrian crash is still under active investigation.
