69-Year-Old Moped Driver Dies after Fatal Accident on Interstate 5

JURUPA VALLEY, CA (August 18, 2021) 69-year-old Jeffrey Bowen tragically died Sunday morning after a moped accident on Interstate 5.

The fatal crash happened at about 10:20 a.m. Sunday on Etiwanda Avenue and Limonite Avenue.

According to the CHP, the moped driver and a black Chevrolet Silverado crashed after Bowen made a sudden U-turn.

As a result, the pickup collided with the moped, throwing Bowen to the ground, CHP said.

Within minutes, paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim dead on the scene.

Meanwhile, the pickup truck driver, who was not injured, remained on the scene to cooporate with the police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s Jurupa Valley Station at 951-776-1099.

An active investigation is currently underway.
