Last Wednesday evening, everyone’s favorite eccentric character actor Jeff Goldblum performed his regular evening of jazz (and chatted extensively with his fans) at Los Feliz restaurant Rockwell. Backed by the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, Goldblum entertained the packed room with an expectedly bizarre soirée of cool jazz (Thelonious Monk, Lee Morgan), parlor games (“who would you rather [sleep with], Channing Tatum or Matthew McConaughey?”) and old-school, Vegas matinee-style crowd pleasing (“Now you get to interview me! Ask me anything”). Goldblum has been presenting his jazz act in Los Angeles for quite a while and he has recently returned from a stint at New York’s Carlisle Hotel, following in the footsteps of the Godfather of film business' seriously amateur jazzmen, Woody Allen. Check out the show any Wednesday night. 1714 N Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027. All photos by Gustavo Turner.
