Jeeves Tangonan Dies in Fiery Collision near Third Street in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 16, 2021) – Tuesday night on March 2, Jeeves Tangonan, was killed and Alex Lopez was arrested after a pursuit crash on Fairfax Avenue.

The incident took place around 10:30 p.m. According to reports, Lopez was driving a grey Chevrolet Malibu without its head lights on. As officers attempted to pull him over, Lopez struck the deputy vehicle and fled the scene.

Deputies chased the driver to the intersection of 3rd Street and Fairfax where he struck another car, sending it into the side of a Citibank. The driver of the vehicle that was struck was later identified as 37-year-old Tangonan.

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate Tangonan from the vehicle. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, he was later pronounced dead on scene.

Moreover, the deputy that was involved was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment of non life-threatening injuries, as was the suspect.

Lopez is now jailed in lieu of $205,000 bail while awaiting his next court appearance on April 29.
