22-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck in Car Accident near State Route 702

PIERCE COUNTY, WA (January 7, 2022) – Sunday night, 22-year-old Jeanette Loomer was killed in a DUI collision on State Route 7.

The accident took place around 7:18 p.m., near the intersection of State Route 7 and State Route 702.

According to reports, a man was driving a southbound Ford Ranger and ran a red light at the intersection, eventually striking the passenger side of a westbound Chevrolet Lumina.

The impact caused the Lumina to spin out and hit a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was heading east on State Route 702.

Investigators identified the driver of the Chevrolet as Loomer, of Maple Valley. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene, due to the extent of her condition.

Moreover, the Jeep occupants sustained minor injuries. The 21-year-old male Ford driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

At this time, Pierce County police continue to investigate the deadly crash. Officers will release updates once available.
