Hit-and-Run Driver Kills 4-Year-Old Girl and Injures 5-Year-Old Boy in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 13, 2021) – Friday night, Jayda Sanchez was killed and Robert and Robby Sanchez were seriously injured in a crash.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident happened around 8:20 p.m., in the 26000 block of South Vermont Avenue.
Witnesses said a driver made an illegal u-turn in the intersection causing the other driver, Robert Sanchez, to swerve. Amidst the chaos, Robert lost control of his vehicle and consequently rolled over before striking a light pole.
Following the collision, the driver of the vehicle that made an illegal u-turn fled the scene.
Emergency responders arrived and pronounced 4-year-old Jayda Sanchez dead on scene. Paramedics also took 5-year-old Robby, and Robert to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
At this time, the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle remains at large. Those with further information are encouraged to contact local authorities as soon as possible.
