34-Year Old Motorcyclist Dies in Fatal Accident near South Main Divide

LAKE ELSINORE, CA (April 21, 2022) – Monday morning, Javier Hernandez Segura died in a motorcycle crash on Ortega Highway.

California Highway Patrol and other emergency personnel responded to the scene around 11:00 a.m., just east of South Main Divide.

Per reports, Segura rounded the curve and collided with the back of a 2008 Econoline van, driven by a 52-year-old San Clemente man. Upon arrival, officers located Segura, who was critically injured down on the road.

Firefighter paramedics immediately began CPR and other lifesaving efforts, but due to his condition, Segura died around 11:19 a.m.

Meanwhile, authorities found the involved blue 2006 Suzuki GSX-R in the eastbound lane of the two-lane mountain roadway.
