Authorities today said the guy who casually drove away with a $75,000 Maserati as a downtown L.A. salesman stood-by stunned has been identified as recent parolee Jason Steigerwald, 34.

We looked him up on Facebook and it appears he fancies himself a playboy, at least by the photos he posts of himself posing with women.

Lt. Dominic Valencia of the L.A. county sheriff's Taskforce for Regional Autotheft Prevention (TRAP) told the Weekly

… Steigerwald has a record of car theft accusations, although it wasn't clear what he was on parole for.

He had been paroled July 14, four days before the theft from Motor Village LA downtown, according to the sheriff's department.

In that caper that saw national headlines, a suspect asked for the keys to a 2008 Maserati so he could hear its Ferrari engine roar.

Instead of just sitting and listening, however, the man drove off.

The car was recovered Aug. 21, according to the department: It was unharmed. Now deputies want to have a chat with Steigerwald.

Valencia told us he's 5 feet, 10 inches, 160 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. If you think you might know which douchy bottle service club he's hiding in where Steigerwald is the sheriff's department would love to hear from you: 800-222-8477.
