Fatal Big-Rig Collision on Wheeler Ridge Road in Arvin

ARVIN, CA (October 21, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a head-on crash that claimed the life of Jasmine Leann Soofi Monday morning.

The fatal incident occurred 1:44 a.m., near Wheeler Ridge Road and Teale Road. Emergency crews responded to the area shortly after.

According to investigators, a four-door sedan drove recklessly into the wrong direction of the roadway. As a result, the sedan collided head-on with a big-rig, sending both vehicles into a ditch.

Due to the impact, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office declared 21-year-old Jasmine Leann Soofi of Bakersfield, dead at the scene.

In addition, Arvin officials closed down the northbound lanes for at least 5 hours to conduct an investigation.
