39-Year-Old Pilot Pronounced Dead after Solo-Airplane Crash in Murrieta
MURRIETA, CA (July 17, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, student pilot Jared Alan Newman lost his life in a plane collision on Industry Way. Dispatchers received calls in the area around 2:00 p.m., at the 37000 block of Industry Way less than a quarter mile east of the airfield. According to reporters, the FAA confirmed that the single-engine Cessna 172 crashed during takeoff, but the events surrounding the incident remain unknown. First responders declared 39-year-old Newman dead at the scene, while the three other occupants suffered minor to moderate injuries. Paramedics transported the three others to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
