March 11 2012 marks the anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami that
struck Japan and took many lives. The Consulate-General of Japan in
Los Angeles and the Japan Business Association of Southern California
held a public appreciation event at The Grove Saturday, “Japan.
Endless Discovery.” to express their gratitude for the support they
received after the devastation. The event included a kimono fashion
show, Taiko performance, Koto performance and a traditional tea
ceremony. Simone Legno, co-founder and creative director of tokidoki
signed drawings for fans and Tune in Tokyo provided music for the
Japanese Street Fashion Show presented by Bubble Punch. All photographs by Shannon Cottrell.
