Break out the mochi. JANM rings in 2011 in Japanese style with an Oshogatsu Family Festival on January 2nd from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Activities include origami-making, bunny-petting, a mochi-pounding demo, a vegan Asian cooking class with Jenny and Heather Goldberg of Spork Foods, zaru soba (buckwheat noodles) with Kidding Around the Kitchen, and a taiko performance.

The festival is free, but attendees must register for most events in advance.
