Jane Lee Hooker to Rock the Viper: Brooklyn rockers Jane Lee Hooker (gotta love that name) play at the Viper Room on Saturday night, on a bill with 8Eyes and Harvest, and we’re expecting big things. This band is fast developing a reputation for hosting one of the wildest, most off-the-hook rock & roll shows on the circuit.

According to the press release, “Jane Lee Hooker is Dana Athens (lead vocals, keyboards); Tracy Hightop (lead and rhythm guitar); Tina T-Bone Gorin (lead and rhythm guitar); Hail Mary Zadroga (bass guitar); and Lightnin’ Ron Salvo (drums). The band formed in 2015, with members having spent time in Nashville Pussy, Bad Wizard, Helldorado, Lez Zeppelin, punk rockers the Wives and Plasmatics offshoot New Hope. They band won international acclaim with their debut album of revved-up blues covers No B! in 2016, and were signed to legendary German blues/rock label Ruf Records. The follow-up album, Spiritus, featured original material written by the band and was released in 2017.”

The band is touring Europe this year too: “Can someone pinch me, please?!?” said Dana Athens in a statement. “This tour is finally happening! We have missed our beloved European fans so very much.”

Jane Lee Hooker to Rock the Viper: The event takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 at the Viper Room.
