It's now Day 4 of Jamie Oliver's Los Angeles Food Revolution and the British chef staged a rally of sorts yesterday at his Westwood headquarters, Jamie's Kitchen, in order to garner support for his efforts to get into Los Angeles public school kitchens. Oliver has been repeatedly denied access by the LAUSD. Oliver has called the second season of his ABC reality show a “documentary,” which is exactly what it may become at this rate: Jamie Oliver and the LAUSD. Will Oliver talk his way into Los Angeles schools? Will our children learn better eating habits before the show wraps? Will Oliver's mobile kitchen challenge Kogi BBQ as the city's favorite food truck? Stay tuned.

In the meantime, Oliver has posted his open letter to Los Angeles parents on his Facebook page. The letter is a call to action, and asks parents to write to LAUSD board members (names, districts and email addresses provided) in the next 24 hours to ask that they allow the chef access to the schools. Turn the page for the letter and check the Facebook page for the addresses. And, if you like, weigh in below in the comments section with your take on this situation. Should the LAUSD let Oliver into the schools? Are there good reasons why they wouldn't? Should Oliver consider charter schools instead? Will the show work if he can't get in? At this point, there are a lot more questions than answers. But hey, I guess we can just wait for the documentary.

Dear Parents,

Thank you for coming today. I need your support. Please write to the LAUSD board members (addresses below) to grant me access into the schools to see the food being fed to your children. Please try to do this in the next 24 hours.

I'm never going to get this done without you.

Please CC jamieskitchenla@live.com on these emails so I can track the great work you are doing.

Please make the subject of your e-mail “Let Jamie Oliver into LAUSD”.

Please pass this on to your friends and family and show your support on our Facebook page – “Food Revolution Los Angeles”. Your effort will make a difference.

Big Love,

Jamie Oliver
