A double accident on the 210 East in the wee hours this morning took the life of 28-year-old Jamie Angelina Jones, a Rialto resident who had been riding in the passenger seat of a 2008 Kia.

California Highway Patrol officers tell City News Service that, at about 2:35 a.m., the Kia crashed into a freeway guardrail just west of Irwindale Avenue. Right as Jones and the driver were climbing from the vehicle, which was jutting into both the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes, a giant semi plowed into the tail end of their car at 45 mph.

The unidentified Kia driver had been able to exit the vehicle quickly enough to escape, but Jones was still partly inside when the tractor-trailer made its fatal hit. She was thrown under the huge truck, and died soon after at the scene.

Jones' Facebook profile lists her hometown as Fontana and her high school as Fontana A. B. Miller High, named after the city's founder. She apparently graduated in 2001. Jones also reps the L.A. Dodgers and the Kings as her favorite sports teams.

The victim's sister, Jamisha, wrote “SHE WILL BE MISSED” on her own wall earlier today, and posted the above photo of Jamie.

Did you know Jamie, or witness the accident? Let us know.
