Hit-and-Run Collision near Aguajito Road Kills 62-Year-Old Carmel Man

MONTEREY, CA (July 5, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, a hit-and-run crash on Highway 1 claimed the life of James Pack.

The collision happened around 3:40 p.m. near Aguajito Road.

According to reports, a silver vehicle collided with a white 1988 Volkswagen van while traveling Highway 1. Investigators said the crash’s impact sent the van rolling over several times and leaving the driver with major injuries.

Unfortunately, the Volkswagen’s driver, identified as 62-year-old James Pack of Carmel, died at the hospital a short while later.

At this time, authorities are looking for the silver vehicle that collided with the van and fled the scene. Police pointed out that the suspect’s vehicle has major right front-end damage.
