Two-Car Collision near Boortz Lane Kills 23-Year-Old Male Driver

RAMONA, CA (September 7, 2023) – Early Monday morning, a head-on collision along State Route 67 claimed the life of James Alvarez. The incident happened at around 3:41 a.m. along State Route 67 near Boortz Lane. According to reports, a northbound Volkswagen Jetta crossed the solid double yellow lines for unknown reasons. Consequently, the Jetta collided head-on with a Toyota Camry traveling in the opposite direction on State Route 67. Responding emergency personnel arrived at the site of the collision shortly after. There, officials pronounced the driver of the Volkswagon, 23-year-old James Alvarez, dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the 20-year-old female Toyota driver to Palomar Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
