38-Year-old Man Dead after Two-Car Crash near Lane Avenue

FRESNO, CA (August 22, 2022) – Thursday morning, 38-year-old Jamal Garrett lost his life after a two-vehicle crash on Chestnut Avenue.

The fatal accident occurred on August 11th, at around 9:10 a.m., near the intersection of Chestnut Avenue and Lane Avenue.

Reports indicated that Garrett was driving a white Buick west on Lane Avenue when he collided with the front of the garbage truck. The Buick then spun out and ended up on the front lawn of a nearby home.

Emergency services arrived at the scene shortly afterward. After preliminary duties, medics pronounced 38-year-old Garrett dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the garbage truck driver sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment. At this time, authorities are currently conducting an active investigation into the crash and will release more information as soon as it becomes available.
