If you're a Mad Men fan, you recently saw a clip of Jacques Demy's Model Shop – the movie Don Draper was watching in the theater. Watch the film in its entirety on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Aero Theatre as part of the American Cinematheque's Model of Moviemaking: Jacques Demy Revisited series this weekend. Model Shop follows an American man who begins an affair with a divorced French model (Anouk Aimée, reappearing as Lola). Also on Friday is Lola, Demy's feature debut, in which Roland Cassard (a role played by Marc Michel, later reprised in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg) encounters Lola, a former love from his teen years (pre – World War II), who is now a cabaret dancer. Also in the series are The Young Girls of Rochefort, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Bay of Angels and Donkey Skin. 

At LACMA's Bing Theater, it's a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Do the Right Thing, part of the Academy's Spike Lee retrospective, which will continue in July. This classic proves that things can get, well, heated on the hottest day of summer. The event will include a conversation moderated by John Singleton (Boyz n the Hood), with Lee, costume designer Ruth E. Carter, casting director Robi Reed, production supervisor Preston Holmes and former Universal executive Tom Pollock. Advance tickets are no longer available but there will be a standby line starting at 7:30 p.m., with tickets distributed on a first-come, first-served basis for the 8:30 screening.

Harrison Ford may be on the mend from a broken leg suffered on the set of one of his famous franchises, Star Wars, but in the meantime, you can catch him in another George Lucas – affiliated franchise, Indiana Jones. Sunday at 5 p.m., the Egyptian Theatre (which is appropriate, given the first film's locale – and the fact that its secondary theater is named after Steven Spielberg) screens the first three Indiana Jones films: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Between the first and second films, there will be time to get some food from the India Jones Chow Truck or the Meso Hungry Truck, parked outside the theater.

Watch as Greg Proops tapes the latest episode of his monthly live Film Club podcast at Cinefamily at 7:30 p.m. Tonight's topic is John Huston's The Man Who Would Be King, about British soldiers Michael Caine and Sean Connery, who leave the Army and become gods in the remote land of Kafiristan. Or, as Proops puts it, “good, old-fashioned movie racism and high adventure.” The film will screen after Proops' comedic podcast recording.

The Getty Research Institute Film and Video Gallery is hosting a series of Yvonne Rainer screenings. From Tuesdays to Sundays, hours of Rainer's work will be on display, beginning at 10:10 a.m. with After Many a Summer Dies the Swan: Hybrid, which includes performance footage of the dance commissioned by Mikhail Baryshnikov's White Oak Dance Project in 2000. Check getty.edu/research for the daily schedule and the full lineup. These Rainer screenings run through Oct. 12.
